Actor Jayasurya is currently courting headlines for his open criticism of the government while talking at a public function that also had the presence of two ministers. The event kicked up a row after minister P Prasad in a repartee asked Jayasurya not to act in real life. However, the actor's bitter criticism of the government also received much applause from certain sections. And now, apart from the hullabaloo over the incident, that actor is back again in the news for the teaser release of the much much-awaited ‘Kathanar - The Wild Sorcerer’. The time wouldn't have been more acute for the release as the actor is currently enjoying the limelight in the news milieu over his unforeseen takedown of the government.
The crew has shared a two-minute-long video featuring some parts of the film. The film is scripted by R Ramanand. The movie is helped by sterling VFX work and the shooting is currently progressing on a 45,000 square feet modular shooting floor built exclusively for the film by Gokulam Movies. The makers claim Kathanar as the first movie in India to solely depend on virtual production technology.
It has been three years since the pre-production of Kathanar started. J J Park, a Canadian with Korean roots is the action choreographer of the movie. Park is a known name in the film world and has proven his mettle in many foreign-language movies. Anushka Shetty will debut in Malayalam through this movie.
