THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A new daily flight service is all set to begin from the capital Thiruvananthapuram to Mumbai. Vistara Airlines will connect passengers between the two cities and the daily service is scheduled to start from September 2nd. This is Vistara's second service in this sector. With this, the number of daily services on the Thiruvananthapuram-Mumbai route will rise up to seven.
The flight (UK 558) will depart from Thiruvananthapuram at 8.30 a.m. and will reach Mumbai at 10.45 a.m. It will start its return journey from Mumbai at 8.25 pm (UK 557) and will touch down in Thiruvananthapuram at 11 pm. The service will be from the domestic terminal at Shankhumugham.
The timings are arranged in such a way as to not overlap with the connectivity flights to cities within the country and to foreign cities including Europe, the US, and the Gulf. Meanwhile, Air India Express has announced that it will run non-stop service from Qatar to Kerala. The service will start on October 29. The ticket booking for this special flight has already started and is seeing big participation from passengers.
Currently, only Qatar Airways operates a direct service from Doha to Thiruvananthapuram. So, the new non-stop service from Air India will be a solace for the passengers, mostly expatriates.
The service will be available four days a week. Doha-Thiruvananthapuram service is scheduled on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday while the Thiruvananthapuram-Doha service will have its service on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday.
