NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi met R Praggnanandhaa, the silver medalist in the World Chess Championship. Praggnanandhaa reached the Prime Minister's residence with his parents. Pragnananda took to X and shared pictures of spending time with the Prime Minister.


"It was a great honour to meet Hon'ble Prime Minister @narendramodi at his residence!
Thank you sir for all the words of encouragement to me and my parents", Praggnanandhaa wrote on X.

The Prime Minister has also shared pictures of him spending time with the chess grandmaster on social media. The Prime Minister described Praggnanandhaa as an example that the young generation of India can conquer any domain.

The 18-year-old Praggnanandhaa lost in the final to five-time world champion Magnus Carlsen. Pictures of his mother Nagalakshmi also went viral on social media.
