THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The police team looking into the VSSC exam cheating case has discovered that the suspects are part of a large group that carried out similar frauds in several states. In this situation, the Kerala Police is considering handing over the investigation to central agencies.
The investigation team collected information about similar cases against the accused in Punjab and Haryana. The suspects used to appear on behalf of the job seekers after receiving up to Rs 7 lakhs from them. The move to hand over the investigation to the central agencies comes in the context of the fact that people belonging to this group continue to commit fraud in many other states.
Meanwhile, the accused, who were arrested from Haryana and brought to Thiruvananthapuram on Tuesday, are not cooperating with the interrogation. The arrested persons are Lakhwinder, Deepak Shaokhand, and Rishipal, natives of Haryana.
