THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Isolated heavy rain is likely to lash the state on Friday. Yellow alert has been sounded in Alappuzha and Idukki. The central meteorological department said that there is a possibility of slight rain at isolated places in Alappuzha and Kottayam in the next three hours.
According to the Central Meteorological Department, strong winds with a speed of 40 to 45 km per hour and occasional up to 55 km per hour are likely in south-east Bay of Bengal.
The Meteorological Center informed that the entire country received bad monsoon last month. 30-33 percent less rainfall was recorded. The previous lowest rainfall was in August 2005. 25 percent was recorded then.
