MUNDAKAYAM: A youth was held for trying to murder a woman. The Mundakayam police arrested a 31-year-old youth identified as Dennis Devasya of Koruthodu Kosadi. He was in a friendly relationship with the woman of Kanjirappally. He sexually abused her later on the pretext of marriage and captured her private pictures on his mobile.

The woman later withdrew from the relationship. He then threatened her showing her nude pics. He invited her to his house on Tuesday night and then hacked her with the knife he had in his hand. After hacking her, he fled from the place. The police nabbed him after registering a case on the woman’s complaint. There is a POCSO case against him at the Kattappana police station. The accused was produced in the court and remanded.
