KANNUR: Let's start learning love for fellow beings from ‘Sundaran Mesthiri’ of Payam in Iritty Thengola. He built five houses for the homeless in his 25 cents of land with the amount he collected through hard work. The locals are also proud of his kindness shown to house five families.
He constructed houses for Sainaba of Karikottakari, Vichitha of Koovakunnu, Lalitha of Kunnothparamba, Priya of Vallithode and Sreeja of Mundayam Parambu. Sundaran Mesthiri and his family found five extremely poor families and built houses for them.
The houses were built on his 25 cents of land located at Kolikadavu village in Thengola. He had to spent more than a crore for the houses constructed on the same model of 750 square feet. One of the two spacious bedrooms has an attached bathroom. Apart from this, the houses have another toilet outside, a spacious yard, kitchen, verandah and a back yard. A wall was built around each house built on a plot of four cents each. All houses have separate fresh water tanks and pumping motors.
The house warming function of all the houses were held on last Uthradom day. Apart from the house, Mesthiri gave Rs 20,000 each for their livelihood to five families. Drinking water is provided to them from a big well built on the remaining one and a half cents in the land given to them.
