PUNE: Actor R Madhavan has been appointed as the President of the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) and Chairman of the governing council. Union minister Anurag Thakur announced the appointment and praised the actor's prowess and his enriching that spans two decades in cinema, to help FTII reach the pinnacle of success.
Madhavan’s debut direction 'Rocketry' based on the infamous ISRO espionage case was recently crowned with a prestigious national award. Meanwhile, the actor took to his Twitter page to convey thanks to the minister and the Modi government for his appointment as the new President of FTII.
