IDUKKI: A 21-year-old student collapsed and died while celebrating the Onam holidays with her family at a tourist center. The deceased is Safna Saleem (21), daughter of Kollam Nedumbana native A Saleem and Madhu Jaya. She was a first-year student of Badhariya B.Ed College, Velichikkala.

Safna collapsed while visiting the Valanjanganam waterfalls along with her family members in Kuttikkanam. Although she was rushed to Taluk Hospital, her life could not be saved. The body has been shifted to Kottayam Medical College for post-mortem. Safna's father is an expatriate. Her mother is a teacher at Kannanalloor MKLMHSS. Safna has a sister-Hasna Saleem.
