BENGALURU: Pragyan rover, part of Chandrayaan 3 mission, has been put into sleep mode, said ISRO. This is due to the loss of sunlight after the lunar day. The rover's payloads also stopped working. The data collected by the rover is received by the lander and sent to Earth. The rover, powered by sunlight, will remain in sleep mode until the next sunrise. September 22 will be the start of the next day. If it survives the harsh winter until then, the rover may be operational again. If the last two weeks were day at the South Pole, the next two weeks are night.

The Rover completed its assignments.
It is now safely parked and set into Sleep mode.
APXS and LIBS payloads are turned off.
Data from these payloads is transmitted to the Earth via the Lander.
Currently, the battery is fully charged.

Pragyan rover has spent as many days on the lunar surface as set by ISRO. The rover has already travelled 100 meters. The rover's solar panel is configured to wake up at the next sunrise. If that happens, the rover will transmit additional data to ISRO beyond the previously scheduled 14-day operational cycle.
