KOZHIKODE: A verbal dispute broke out at a mega fashion show event after advertising that movie stars including Sunny Leone would arrive. Around 100 policemen arrived and stopped the event and took the organizer into custody. Many including the organizers were thrown out of the venue. The 'Fashion Race - Win Your Passion' designer show and the 'Golden Reels Film Awards' event which were being held at the Calicut Trade Center in Kozhikode Sarovaram ended in a verbal dispute.

The police said that since last April, there was a campaign on social media related to the designer show. A video of Minister J Chinchurani and film stars including Sunny Leone congratulating the event was circulated on social media. The campaign was such that even children with no previous experience in the field of fashion could participate in the programme. The police stated that the organizers had informed that it would cost around Rs 6000 per child.

The programme was going on for three days in Kozhikode. The organizers had asked the participants to arrive a day in advance. According to the police, 764 families have reached Kozhikode from all over the state. It was informed that children will be given cat walk training at the trade center and film stars and leading designers will also be given training. However, there were no leading designers and the parents alleged that the clothes given to their children were of very poor quality.

A minor clash broke out in the programme on September 1. They had announced that children will be given a chance to walk the ramp yesterday evening. However, there is a complaint that they were given a chance to enter the stage only for a few minutes. As tensions rose, the event's private security staff tried to stop the parents, creating more tension. Later, the police came and stopped the event. Police said the organizers had not taken permission to hold the mega event at the trade centre.
