PAMPADY: The campaign for the Puthupally by-election which had generated excitement, has come to an end. Allies from all three political fronts celebrated in Pampadi town. Leaders from the major political fronts also arrived to show their support. The celebration took place at a location designated by the police for all three fronts. The festivities commenced at three o'clock. Activists made the 'Kottikalasam' event grand by dancing to songs, swaying to the Chenda Melam (traditional percussion music) and chanting slogans. Fireworks added to the jubilation.

The Puthupally Constituency witnessed an unprecedented election campaign. The excitement grew when LDF candidate Jake C Thomas and NDA candidate Lijinlal arrived in the town. However, UDF candidate Chandy Oommen did not attend the Kottikalasam event. Instead, Chandy Oommen conducted an extensive door-to-door campaign. Tomorrow marks a day of silent campaigning.

Opposition leader VD Satheesan and Shashi Tharoor are in the constituency to secure votes for Chandy Oommen. Ministers including Minister V N Vasavan have come out in support of Jake. Minister Vasavan mentioned that the situation appears favourable for Jake and highlighted that six panchayats in the constituency are governed by the LDF. Meanwhile, the UDF asserts that the anti-incumbency sentiment will translate into votes. The BJP's hopes hinge on the faith community's support.
