PATHANAMTHITTA: Heavy rain again in the eastern forest region of Pathanamthitta. It is suspected that there was a landslide in the inner forest. Gurunathanmannu area was hit by heavy flash floods. The shutters of the Moozhiyar dam may be raised again. The shutters of Moozhiyar Dam were raised last day after the water level rose dramatically.

The rains that started in the evening of September 1st subsided yesterday but intensified again today evening. Kakki recorded heavy rainfall on the 1st of September with 225 mm of rain. Athikkayam recorded 101 mm, Angamoozhy 153 mm and Moozhiyar 143 mm.

IMD said that due to the formation of Cyclonic Circulation in the Northeast Bay of Bengal, there is a possibility of strengthening of low pressure over the Northwest Bay of Bengal and the Central West Bay of Bengal in the next 48 hours. Due to this, moderate rainfall is likely to continue in Kerala for the next 5 days. IMD has informed that heavy rain is also possible at isolated places from September 1 to 7.
