CHENGANNUR: The body of the three-year-old boy, who went missing after the auto in which he was travelling overturned at Achenkovil River, has been found. The body of Kashinathan was recovered during the search which started Monday morning. The incident took place at Venmani in Alappuzha. The child's mother Athira S Nair (31) had died in the accident. There were five people in the auto. Three people were rescued immediately after the accident. Kashinathan was swept away by the strong undercurrents.

The accident happened on the west Kallimel side of Kollakadavu bridge on Kunnam Chacko Road last evening at 5.45 pm. A group of five members who were going to their home in Venmani from Karayamvattam met with the accident after the auto lost control.

Apart from Athira and Kashinathan, her husband Shylesh alias Anu 43, daughter Keerthana (11) and driver Saju (45) were in the auto. They were rescued by the locals soon after the accident. The water level in the rivers had risen due to the heavy rains in Pathanamthitta for the past few days.
