KOCHI: A youth attempted suicide in the Kerala High Court. A youth hailing from Thrissur tried to end his life by slitting his wrist. The incident happened when the habeas corpus plea involving him was being considered. He committed the act after his female friend ended their relationship.

The youth and the female law student were staying together. Her parents had filed a habeas corpus plea in the high court demanding her release. The youth was the opposite party in this. This is how both of them arrived in the court.

The court asked the girl if she was willing to go with the youth while considering the plea. She replied that she is not interested. After hearing this, the youth went outside. People including the lawyers asked him where he was going. He said that he wants to return her things.

He reached the door, took the knife he had in his hand and slit his wrist. People including the policemen who were in the chamber shifted him to the hospital. The condition of the youth admitted in a hospital in Kochi is not critical.
