KOCHI: A revision petition has been filed in the High Court seeking a vigilance investigation against the Chief Minister and his daughter in the monthly quota controversy. The complainant is Kalamassery native Gireesh Babu, who had earlier approached the Muvattupuzha Vigilance Court with the same demand. The Muvattupuzha Vigilance Court had rejected his demand citing lack of evidence. Following this, the complainant decided to approach the High Court.
In his petition, Gireesh Babu sought an investigation into the ''illegal financial transactions, coming under the ambit of bribery, carried out between the accused persons,'' in connection with mining and other ''business interests'' of the company Cochin Minerals and Rutile Ltd (CMRL). A news daily had reported that CMRL had paid a total of ₹1.72 crore to Veena Vijayan's firm between 2017 and 2020.
