NEW DELHI: Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has expressed disagreement with Tamil Nadu Minister Udayanidhi Stalin's remarks regarding Sanatana Dharma. Mamata's response to the controversy was that every religion has separate sentiments and we should not be involved in any matter which might hurt a section of people.

"As Udayanidhi is a junior in politics, he may not know about these matters. It is not known under what circumstances the controversial remark regarding Sanatana Dharma was made. However, all religions should be respected. I respect Sanatana Dharma.' - Mamata Banerjee explained. Mamata added that she has respect for Stalin and South India.

Udayanidhi's remarks have also created division in 'INDIA', the front of the opposition parties in the country. When leaders including Mamata rejected Udayanidhi, Samajwadi Party argued that the issue was being made controversial by the BJP.

Udayanidhi's controversial remarks were made at a conference held in Chennai on Saturday. Udayanidhi Stalin's comment was that Sanatana Dharma is against equality and social justice and should be eradicated like contagious diseases. BJP has come out with heavy criticism against this.
