NEW DELHI: AICC General Secretary KC Venugopal announced that the first meeting of the newly formed 84-member Congress working committee will be held in Hyderabad on September 16.

Congress, which is also targeting Telangana assembly election preparations, will hold a mega rally and announce five promises in Hyderabad on the 17th. A special meeting will also be held on that day in which the working committee members, PCC presidents, legislative party leaders and parliamentary party leaders will participate.

The leaders, including the working committee members, will conduct home visits to the 119 assembly constituencies of Telangana under their responsibility. Mallikarjuna Kharge will flag off their journey. On the 18th, the leaders will participate in programs in the assembly constituencies.

Bharat Jodo Yatra anniversary celebration

On September 17, the first anniversary of Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Yatra, 722 Bharat Jodo Yatras will be organized at the district levels. The yatra, which will be held from 5 pm to 6 pm, will be led by working committee members, PCC presidents, assembly party leaders, incumbent leaders, MPs, former MPs, MLAs, former MLAs, etc. A public meeting will also be organized after the yatra.

India front meeting today

Leaders of the opposition front will meet today at 8 pm at Congress President Mallikarjuna Kharge's residence to discuss the strategies to be adopted in the special parliamentary session starting from September 18. Prior to that, a special meeting of the Congress Parliamentary Strategy Group will be held at 10 Janpath, Sonia Gandhi's residence.

Venugopal said that Congress is ready even if 'One Nation, One Election' is declared, but with the formation of the opposition front, there are signs that the BJP is scared. Venugopal commented on DMK leader Udaynidhi Stalin's controversial statement that Congress supports 'Sarva Sama Bhavana'.
