THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Police have intensified their search for the absconding accused in the case of SFI group beating up the son of a CPM woman leader in Sanskrit college.


Cantonment Police has registered a case against Jithu from Nellimoodu, Sachin from Karamana and Naseem from Ambalamukku, who are former students of the college and former office-bearers of the SFI unit and seven known people for beating up Perumkadavila panchayat vice president and CPM leader S Bindu's son Adarsh. Adarsh ​​is a first-year literature student.

The incident took place during the Onam celebrations organized by SFI on the 24th of last month. Adarsh, who participated in the sack race, was asked by the organizers to compete again. Adarsh, who refused to compete because he was wearing a mundu, was forcibly dragged to the classroom and brutally beaten on his face, back and hands with a helmet and a stick. Bindu said that Adarsh ​​was seriously injured due to the impact of the blow, his jaw was broken and he was unable to eat.

Adarsh ​​told about the attack on the 29th. After seeking treatment at various hospitals, a complaint was lodged with the police. Those who beat him were drunk. Adarsh ​​responded that many of the accused graduated from college five years ago but they are the ones who control whatever program is held in college. Cantonment Police said that they received the complaint on the 30th and started an investigation on the 31st. Police also recorded Adarsh's statement that the attack was carried out by those who entered the college as organization members despite having completed their studies.
