KOTTAYAM: After the campaigning works that rocked the constituency, Puthuppally will go to the polling booths today. Voting will be held from 7 am to 6 pm. There will be a total of 182 booths in eight panchayats. There are seven candidates including three Front candidates, an Aam Aadmi representative, and three independents. The counting of votes will take place on September 8.
All three fronts are hopeful that the polling percentage will rise above 80. However, there is a threat of rain in Kottayam and the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert in the district today. While Chandy Oommen will cast his vote in Puthuppally Georgian Public School, Jaick C Thomas will cast his vote in Manarkad LPS. Meanwhile, NDA candidate Lijin Lal has no vote in the constituency.
