KOTTAYAM: Polling is progressing in Puthupally, where political Kerala is looking forward to. Voting started at 7 in the morning. Despite the threat of rain, young voters and the elderly came to vote. At the end of the first hour, 5.25 percent polling was recorded.
LDF candidate Jaick C Thomas arrived at Kanayamkunnu UP School to cast his vote. He came after offering prayers at his father's grave. The pictures of Jaick standing in line to cast his vote at a crowded booth have surfaced.
Polling is from 7 am to 6 pm. There are 182 booths in eight panchayats. There are seven candidates including three Front candidates, an AAP representative and three independents. Votes will be counted on September 8. Chandy Oommen is casting his vote at Puthupally Georgian Public School. NDA candidate Lijin Lal has no vote in the constituency.
