THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The CPM has taken back the chairmanship of the Kerala State Welfare Corporation for forward communities given to the Kerala Congress (B). Kerala Congress (B) state vice president K G Premjith has been removed and CPM nominee M Rajagopalan Nair has been appointed as the new chairman by the department of public administration. However, Premjith said that he is not aware of his removal and has not seen the order.

K B Ganesh Kumar was promised a ministerial berth as soon as the second Pinarayi government completes two and a half years. The tenure of the post was revoked at the end of its half term, in a situation where there was no decision as to whether this assurance would be fulfilled. It is indicated that the decision was taken without the consent of the Kerala Congress (B). When the Kerala Congress (B) joined the LDF, R Balakrishna Pillai was made the chairman of the Forward Corporation along with a cabinet rank.

CPM sympathizer Rajagopalan Nair was earlier Travancore Devaswom Board President and Devaswom Recruitment Board Chairman. He is also a senior lawyer. The entire governing body of the corporation has been reconstituted. P V Bhavadasan Namboothiri, Fr Jiji Thomas, T K Prasad, M P Murali, Kollangode Raveendran Nair and P N Mohanan have been made members and reorganized. Additional secretary, public administration, additional secretary, finance and MD of Forward Communities Corporation are official members.

Meantime, K B Ganesh Kumar MLA had come forward criticizing the ministers and the government. Ganesh had said that nothing is happening in many departments and the MLAs are not even able to stay in their hometowns. Ganesh Kumar had also publicly criticized Public Works Minister P A Muhammad Riyas for not allowing roads in his constituency Pathanapuram. Ganesh Kumar's response to Speaker A N Shamseer's Ganapathy remark that he stands with the NSS was also a headache for the CPM.
