KALPETTA: A man was killed in a drunken brawl in front of a beverage outlet. The incident took place in Kalpetta, Wayanad. Puthoorvayal native Nishad Babu was beaten to death with a stone. Police have taken two people into custody in the incident. The accused in custody are Chakkara Shamir and Kottaram Shareef, friends of the deceased Nishad Babu.

On Tuesday afternoon. Nishad Babu was drinking alcohol with his friends Chakkara Shameer and Kottaram Shareef. It is reported that a verbal argument broke out among the three while trying to buy another bottle from the beverages outlet in Kalpetta. Following the argument, Nishad was beaten up with a stone by his friends.

Nishad fell to the ground getting beaten up. Seeing this, Shameer and Shareef escaped the spot. After some time, Nishad got up from there, reached the Kalpetta stand, and boarded a bus. However, he collapsed after some time. Following this, the bus staff informed the police.
