MUHAMMA: A tragic incident occurred as a KSEB employee, Bijumon (49) hailing from Gurumandiram Ward's Uthradam house lost his life instantly in a collision between a car and a bus in Alappuzha. This unfortunate accident also left his wife, Rathimol and their children, Abhi and Anupama injured. One of their daughters required specialized medical care and was admitted to a private hospital in Nettur.

The accident transpired at 10:30 AM yesterday morning near Kalavoor Barnard Junction on National Highway 66. The family, who were en route to Hyderabad for a sightseeing trip collided with a private bus Navashree, operating on the Alappuzha Kadappuram-Kalavoor route. The bus was bound for Kalavur.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the driver of the car Bijumon may have fallen asleep at the wheel. The car was severely damaged in the collision, necessitating the extraction of its occupants. Tragically, Bijumon lost his life on the spot. Fortunately, four passengers on the bus suffered only minor injuries.

The force of the collision caused the bus to lose control, resulting in it colliding with the guard wall of the service road on the eastern side of the highway.

Bijumon was employed at the KSEB Thiruvalla Thottabhagam Electricity Section Office and was the son of K U Sivanandan and Leela. His burial is scheduled for today at 3 PM at Valiyachudukadu.
