ANCHAL: A man hanged himself after trying to kill his wife. The deceased is Anchal native Shahjahan (64). His wife Anisa (58) was seriously injured.

The police said that Shahjahan was addicted to drugs and that a family dispute was the reason behind the attack. The incident happened yesterday morning at 10.30 a.m. After quarreling with his wife, Shahjahan hacked his wife's neck, hand, and stomach several times with a machete. He then went into the bedroom and hanged himself thinking that Anisa was dead. No one else was home at the time of the incident.
