SALEM: Six members of a family, including a one-year-old girl, died as a speeding van rammed into a lorry. The accident took place on the Sankari bypass in Salem district in Tamil Nadu. Two people sustained injuries.

The accident took place this morning. According to sources, the speeding van rammed into the stationary lorry. All the deceased were members of a family living in the Harijan colony in Kuttampalayam in Erode. The deceased are Selvaraj (50), M Arumugham (48), his wife Manjula (45), Palaniswamy (45), his wife Pappathi (40), and R Sanjana (1). Palaniswamy's daughter R Priya (21), and Arumughan's daughter Vignesh aka Vicky (25) sustained injuries. Vignesh was behind the wheel at the time of the accident.
