LUCKNOW: A youth stole a Shivling from a temple after his prayers for marriage was not fulfilled. The incident happened at Kaushambi in Uttar Pradesh. The police have arrested the youth identified as Chhotu for theft. His frequent prayers at Bhairo Baba Temple for a good bride didn’t yield any results. However, he stole the Shivling from the temple after failing to get a wife.

He stole the Shivling of Bhairo Baba Temple. He then hid the Shivling under a pile of leaves and bamboo in a crop field. The absence of the Shivling was noticed when the devotees visited the temple on August 31st. They later informed the police. The police suspected Chhotu from the beginning. More information was obtained on questioning him.

The accused confessed to have stolen the Shivling and hiding it in the field. Police inspector Abhishek Kumar said Chhotu committed the act as he did not get a suitable match. The police have found the Shivling.
