KARUR: A controversy erupted in Tamil Nadu after a group of students of a government school in Karur district refused to eat the breakfast prepared by a Dalit cook. The incident took place at the Velan Chettiyar School in Karur district in Tamil Nadu the other day. Fifteen students refused the food provided under the Chief Minister's free breakfast scheme.

Following the incident, district collector T Prabu Shankar visited the school and issued a warning to the parents of the 15 students of potential legal action under the Prevention of Atrocities against the SC/ST Act.
