KUMBLA: Preliminary conclusion of crime branch that there was no fault on the part of police in the case of the death of the student who was undergoing treatment after the car overturned after being chased by police. Crime branch said that there is a contradiction between the complaint of the deceased Farhas' family and the statements of the students who were injured in the accident.
According to the statement of the accused police officers, it was only after the accident that they came to know that the car was occupied by students. The preliminary investigation report of the case has been handed over to the district police chief.
Crime Branch stated that the investigation is in progress. Muslim League, MSF and KSU had come forward to protest the death of the student. Sub Inspector Rajith, civil police officers Deepu and Ranjith were transfered to Kanhangad Highway Police Station.
District Police Chief Vaibhav Saxena has assured that the culprits will not be protected in any way. It is said that a decision will be taken on whether further action is required against the policemen after the final report of Crime Branch.
