MANIPUR: Supreme Court stayed the arrest of Editors Guild of India president Seema Mustafa, members Seema Guha, Bharat Bhushan and Sanjay Kapoor in connection with the Manipur conflict till Monday. Media workers who were part of the fact-finding team of the Editors' Guild are the ones who got the temporary relief.

Manipur Police had registered two FIRs alleging that the report was misleading. The petition filed by the office-bearers of the Editors Guild of India will be considered again on Monday. The bench headed by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud also ordered notices to be sent to the opposing parties, including the Manipur government.

Supreme Court said that the Manipur government should submit a status report on the incidents where the weapons of the security forces were stolen by the assailants during the conflict. The report should be forwarded along with the account of recovered weapons including firearms. Appearing for the Manipur government, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta denied the allegation that chicken pox was spreading in the camps. Ration, food and medicine are being distributed properly. Supreme Court has recorded this. Justice Geetha Mittal also directed the committee to appoint experts to assist in rehabilitation activities. A decision in this regard should be taken in consultation with the Union Home Secretary Committee.
