KOCHI: The man accused of kidnapping and abusing an eight-year-old daughter of a migrant worker in Aluva has been arrested. The arrested person is a native of Thiruvananthapuram. The accused was earlier identified through CCTV footage. It was also revealed earlier that the said person is accused in several theft cases. The suspect has been identified as Cristil, a native of Parassala's Chengal.
In 2017, this man went into hiding after he was accused of abusing an elderly woman. Locals say that it has been more than a year and a half since he came to his native place. There have been incidents where he has harmed animals and has been involved in theft cases since his childhood.
The said person allegedly abducted an eight-year-old girl who was sleeping at home, abused and left her in a nearby field. The locals came to know about the incident when they heard the child's cry and opened the window. Some saw a man walking with a child. The child stopped crying when he threatened to beat her.
He was a bearded man in pants and shirt. Feeling suspicious, one of the locals turned off all the lights in the house, took a stick and a torch and went outside. Then he woke up all the people in the neighbourhood. They searched the entire area but could not find the child due to heavy rain. Later the child ran to them. The child was completely naked. After this, the police was informed.
