ALAPPUZHA: Police have arrested a native of Bangladesh who molested a minor girl in Arthunkal. The arrested person is Ariful Islam (26) alias Shameem of Pirojpur district in Bangladesh. He arrived in India last June without a passport or visa.

The police found that he was a native of Bangladesh during the investigation focused on the mobile phone. On August 23, while collecting scrap, Shameem broke into the house and raped the girl who was alone in the house. Arthunkal police arrested the accused and remanded him on the same day as the case was registered.
