KOZHIKODE: The accused doctor and nurses were arrested and later released in the case in which a pair of scissors got stuck in a woman's stomach during delivery surgery.

Manjeri Medical College Assistant Professor Dr C K Rameshan, nurses M Rahana, and K G Manju appeared before the investigating officer yesterday. After questioning, they were arrested. Dr. Shahana, who works in a private hospital in Kottayam, did not appear due to health reasons. The investigation team will proceed to other steps if it gets permission from the government to try the accused. Following this, it will submit the charge sheet in the case. The accused have been charged with offenses carrying a maximum two-year sentence in a case that was filed under the Medical Negligence Act.

Harsheena, who ended her strike after the police filed a charge sheet, is preparing to continue her strike demanding compensation. Harsheena stated that she will hold a one-day satyagraha in front of the Secretariat on the 13th of this demanding a compensation of Rs 50 lakh.
