ALUVA: The Aluva rape case main accused Crystal Raj had cultivated a special liking for stealing mobile phones. According to police, whenever he barges into a house, his eyes will first pry for mobile phones but not any other valuable items.
While furtively taking the victim out of the house, Crystal made sure to pocket one mobile phone he found in the house. After sexually assaulting the girl and leaving her on the road, the accused reached Perumbavoor Desasatkrita Road via Ashanlane. The CCTV footage from this place showed Crystal removing the SIM card from his mobile phone while being inside the car porch of a doctor’s house. The house was unoccupied at the time of Crystal’s intrusion.
The next morning, Crystal saw police reaching the nearby house and was alerted. He jumped the walls of the house and hired an auto rickshaw to reach the private bus stand. The Police took hold of the CCTV visuals of the man and showed the same to the usual culprits stationed near the railway station area. All of them identified the culprit.
According to the report, the robbers near the railway station identified the man as ‘Kokku Sathish’ from Thiruvananthapuram, who is infamous for stealing mobile phones. When this information was shared in the state WhatsApp group of the police, the complete information was received. With this, it was confirmed that the accused was Crystal Raj.
