NEW DELHI: The national capital, where world leaders including the US president are meeting for the G20 summit, is under security lock by various agencies. It is equipped with Air Force fighter jets and Akash missiles. Fifty thousand personnel of Delhi Police have been deployed. 1500 policemen in civil clothes will be on duty outside the main venue, Pragati Maidan. There is a feeling of lockdown in Delhi. From 5 am today to 11.59 pm tomorrow, the entire New Delhi district will be Controlled Zone-One region.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi directed the Union Ministers to avoid official vehicles to the summit venues and use specially arranged shuttle buses. Only local residents are allowed to enter the road in important security areas including Pragati Maidan. They should carry an identity card. Others need a special pass to enter the security zone. Shops are not allowed to open. There will be no public bus service. People should use the metro service as much as possible. There will be metro services from 4am onwards. Only the Supreme Court Metro station near Pragati Maidan is closed. This station will be under the control of security forces today and tomorrow. A public holiday has been declared in Delhi for three days from yesterday. Vehicles crossing the border are not allowed into the New Delhi zone.

Dog Squad at Rajghat

The National Security Guard's K9 Sniper Dog Squad is based at Rajghat to detect bombs, explosives and other sophisticated weapons. This is in the context of the arrival of world leaders at Rajghat, the memorial of Mahatma Gandhi.
