THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Indian Meteorological Department has predicted rains in Kerala for the next five days due to the presence of a cyclone over Madhya Pradesh. IMD informed the possibility of heavy rains from September 9th to 11th. Yesterday, many parts of Kerala including the capital Thiruvananthapuram got soaked in heavy rain that lasted till the late midnight hours.

A yellow alert has been announced in 11 districts of the state for Saturday. Rain warning has been issued in Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod districts.

On Sunday, a Yellow alert was announced in Idukki, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, and Kasaragod districts, and on Monday in Idukki, Malappuram, Kannur and Kasaragod districts.

Fishing activity has been restricted in the coastal areas of Kerala, Karnataka, and Lakshadweep. Thunder warning has also been issued till the 11th of this month. According to the Indian Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of moderate rain at isolated places in Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur and Kasargod districts and light rain at isolated places in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad and Kannur districts.
