NEW DELHI: For news media across the nation, the current focus is solely on Pragati Maidan, to report the happenings at the G20 summit. Social media is abuzz with details ranging from the five-star hotels used by world leaders to the culinary varieties served as part of the function. And now topping all comes the news behind the special gift that Narendra Modi is planning for world leaders at the summit.
In a mega event planned, PM Modi will hand over a special artifact to world leaders and dignitaries. It is a handmade artifact in brass and goes by the name ‘Kamalam’, the name given for its resemblance to the lotus. A total of 50 brass lotuses have been specially crafted for India's biggest global event. The brass lotus is prepared by local artisans from Bundelkhand.
This Memento was created by Manmohan Saini, a National Award winner from Uttar Pradesh. Manmohan Saini was asked eight months ago by the UP Handicrafts and Development Corporation to make fifty lotuses in brass.
