NEW DELHI: A 38-year-old father was brutally beaten while trying to save his son. The incident took place amid heavy police presence near Delhi where the G20 summit is being held. The murder took place in the Sanjay Colony area last night at around eleven o'clock. Mohammad Hanif, a porter, was killed in the incident.
Hanif's 14-year-old son had gone to pick up his bike which was parked on the street near the house. Upon reaching the spot, he saw four, or five boys sitting on the bike. He asked them to get off the bike but they did not listen. The ensuing argument resulted in a fight.
Hearing the commotion, Hanif came out and saw his son being attacked. While trying to stop them, the gang turned on Hanif and attacked him with bricks.
On receiving the information, the police immediately reached the spot and admitted Hanif to the hospital, but his life could not be saved. The police registered a case and started an investigation. The police said that the search for the accused is in progress. Another minor son of Hanif was also injured in the beating. They are under treatment.
