THRISSUR: Crores were spent by top police officials in the money lending deals of P Satishkumar, the middleman arrested by the ED in the Karuvannur loan scam. It is also alleged that the bribe money was given to be lent out as loans. When the money paid on interest was not received, he used to use police officers and goons to threaten and confiscate the property. Several deeds were recovered from Satish Kumar's house during the ED raid. Senior police officers and retired people who worked in Palakkad and Thrissur districts are among those who gave money. It is reported that the police officer who was CI in Thrissur and DySP in Shornur and later SP did not get back the 3.5 crores he handed over to Satish.
ED going for top leaders
It is reported that ED has interrogated many persons, whose names have not yet been revealed, who are suspected of having links with AC Moideen. The names of some CPM leaders and real estate businessmen have come out in the remand report submitted to the court. ED has also extended the probe to top CPM leaders in Kannur. Meanwhile, ED has issued notice to Moideen, who has been absent twice, to appear tomorrow.
That MP is Biju- Anil Akkara
Congress leader Anil Akkara said that the former MP identified by the ED in the remand report is PK Biju, the former Lok Sabha member from Alathur. He also alleged that the first accused in the case, Satish Kumar, is Biju's mentor. Meanwhile, PK Biju said that he does not wish to comment on the matter.
