KOLKATA: Dilip Ghosh, a member of parliament from Medinipur in West Bengal and a senior BJP leader has now made a controversial statement on the renaming of India. He said that the name of the country will be renamed as Bharat and those who are not interested in the name change should leave the country. This controversial statement was made while participating in the 'Chai Pe Charcha' program held in Kharagpur today. Dilip Ghosh also said that if BJP comes to power in West Bengal, BJP
will remove the statues of foreigners installed in Kolkata.
Once our party comes to power in West Bengal, all the statues of foreigners installed in Kolkata will be removed. The name of India will be changed to Bharat. Dilip Ghosh said that those who are not interested in that matter are free to leave the country.
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister's nameplate at the G20 was the subject of discussion yesterday amid the controversy surrounding the naming of the country as Bharat. The nameplate states the name of the country as 'Bharat'. The controversies started when the invitation letter of the President came out earlier in the name of 'President of India'. The matter became controversial when the letters sent from the Rashtrapati Bhavan in the name of President Draupadi Murmu, inviting the heads of state to participate in the G20 summit, were marked as 'President of Bharat'.
