UDIYANKULANGARA: Chandy Oommen who is just hours away from being an MLA visited Chenkal Maheswaram Shivaparvati temple on Sunday . The youngster who won the historic Puthuppally election by a record majority also took part in a ritual known as Thulabaram.
Chandy reached the temple at 10 a.m. on Sunday and prayed during the ‘Deeparadhana’ hour. A special Pooja was also conducted for the new MLA as part of Makayiram( star sign) day’s auspicious Pooja. Chandy later offered Thulabaram with 95kg sugar sacks weighing on the opposite side. He also attended the conference held here and returned after receiving the blessings of the temple abbot.
Even before filing his nomination for Puthuppally, Chandy dialed the temple abbot to seek his approval and blessings.
“Thulabharam is part of winning the election. My father had a long association with this temple and the abbot. “ Chandy said.
Chandy Oommen said he had a longing to visit this temple before taking oath as MLA.
