BENGALURU: India's solar probe Aditya L1's orbit has been successfully lifted for the third time. With this, Aditya reached an orbit 71767 km above the earth. Due to its elliptical orbit, it will come close to the Earth at a distance of 296 km. Aditya, which was launched on September 2, will circle the Earth for 16 days and raise the orbit. After that move to Lagrange Point which is the fixed position to observe the Sun.
The orbit will be raised two more times. The next orbit raising manoeuvre will be at 2 am on September 15. Aditya is expected to arrive at the intended orbit L1, which is 15 lakh km from the earth.
