THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The main accused in the killing of a tenth-standard boy in Poovachal was arrested by police on Monday. The accused, Priyaranjan, a resident of Poovachal, was arrested from the Tamil Nadu border by a team led by Thiruvananthapuram Rural SP. He was charged with murder after the shocking CCTV footage of the incident came out.

The brutality of the incident came out only after the police decided to check the CCTV camera fixed in the Pulinkode temple.

“Uncle, is it right to urinate in front of the temple?” It would be quite shocking for anyone to believe that the murder happened only for this question from the child. The demonic incident happened on August 30, when Priyaranjan drove his car to hit Adisekhar(15) while the child was crossing the road with a bicycle.

The incident took place when Adishekhar was returning with his friends after keeping the ball in the shed after playing at the Pulinkode temple ground.

Adishekar took his bicycle from his friend and decided to ride back home. It was at this moment that the electric car (KL 19 N 6957) which started a slow ride, suddenly increased speed to hit the child and then flee.

The police investigation revealed that the accused Priyaranjan was a regular alcoholic and was drunk at the time of the incident and moreover, the murder was pre-planned. The case initially registered as an accidental death, was treated as a homicide after the family went dubious over the mystery surrounding Adisekhar's death.
