THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: IMD has warned that there is a possibility of heavy rain in the state for the next five days. Heavy rainfall is possible due to two cyclonic circulations coming together. One cyclonic circulation is located over northwest Madhya Pradesh and another cyclonic circulation is over East Bay of Bengal near Myanmar coast. These cyclonic circulations are likely to intensify into a low pressure over northwest Bay in the next 72 hours. Meteorological Department has informed that there is a possibility of rain in Kerala for the next five days due to this condition.

The warning also states that there is a possibility of heavy rain at isolated places on September 11th and 12th. A yellow alert has been issued in various districts today and tomorrow as the rain situation continues to intensify. Yellow alert has been declared in Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki and Malappuram districts today. Ernakulam, Idukki and Malappuram districts are under yellow alert tomorrow. IMD has informed that there is no disruption to fishing in Kerala and Karnataka coasts but one should not go fishing in Lakshadweep shores.
