COLOMBO: India scored a humungous total against Pakistan in the Super 4 match of the Asia Cup tournament on Monday. India scored 356 runs for the loss of two wickets in 50 overs.

Centuries by KL Rahul (111) and Virat Kohli (122) guided India to a huge score against arch-rivals Pakistan. Rahul completed his century in 100 balls. This is Rahul's sixth century in ODIs. Rohit Sharma (56) and Shubman Gill (58) scored half-centuries.

Indian resumed batting at 147-2 on the reserve day of the game. Kohli's 47th career century came from 84 balls. With this, the former Indian captain became the fastest player to reach 13,000 runs in ODIs. Rahul’s century turned a breather for the selection committee as he was often targeted by media and critics for his dismal performance albeit being in favour of selectors. He hit five fours and one six. India scored 105 runs in the last ten overs.

Due to unabated rain on Sunday, the game was stopped midway and was postponed to a reserve day. Rain killed the Sunday game while India was at 147-2 in 24.1 overs. India lost the toss and was asked to bat first. However, Rohit Sharma (56) and Subhman Gill (58) were scintillating with the bat from the very start.

Gill started the attack first and then Rohit followed suit. Shaheen Afridi, the lethal weapon of Pak bowling had better days on the field as he failed to shine on Monday. Gill blasted ten fours in the game.
