THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In the 46th board meeting of KIIFB chaired by the Chief Minister, 13 projects worth Rs 343.71 crore were sanctioned.

With this, KIIFB has so far approved 1073 projects worth a total of Rs 82,293.93 crore.

Among the projects approved yesterday, 9 projects worth Rs 218.80 crore including land acquisition for road development projects under the Public Works Department and Rs 24.98 crore projects have been approved under the Coastal Shipping and Inland Navigation Department for the beautification of the canal and the construction of footpaths on the banks of the canal from Arivalam to Thotilpalam in Varkala as part of the West Coast Canal. A project of Rs 14.15 crore for installation of centralized video surveillance system at Thiruvananthapuram Medical College under the Health Department, a project of Rs 12.71 crore for infrastructure development of Thycaud Government College under the Higher Education Department and Rs 73.07 crore for the development of Muzhupilangad and Dharmadam beaches under the Tourism Department has been sanctioned.

Apart from this, in-principle approval has been given for the first phase of Genomic Data Centre, Work Near Home Project, construction of Kannur Pinarayi Educational Hub and initial studies of Urban Rejuvenation Beautification Project and Urban Sustainable Land Reclamation Project under the Department of Local Self-Government.
