THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The crime branch officials are still waiting for the chemical test results in the case where the solar case ‘heroine’ alleged she was poisoned in food. Regarding the case, samples of the complainant's blood, hair and nails were sent to Delhi's Central Forensic Science Laboratory in February.

The crime branch filed a case on the complaint that Saritha's former driver Vinukumar poisoned her food using certain chemicals. According to the case, Vinukumar was made the first defendant, while some easily identifiable people were also roped in as accused. According to the complainant, the poisoning resulted in partial loss of vision in her left eye and the left leg going wobbly.

The FIR alleges that Vinukumar conspired with a person to threaten the complainant to mint financial profits.

The complainant came to know about the food poisoning only when she fell ill and sought treatment. High levels of arsenic, mercury and lead were found in the blood. Since 2018, the complainant suffered physical difficulties and raised suspicion of being poisoned. However, she failed to identify the person behind the crime.

But on January 3, 2022, it was realized that Vinukumar had mixed the chemical at a juice shop in Karamana.

Vinu has been the driver of the complainant since 2014. It was only after getting the doctor's report and the result of the chemical examination that she filed a complaint with the crime branch.
