NILAMBUR: CBI conducted an inspection at accused Shaibin Ashraf's house in Nilambur Mukkatta in connection with the case in which expatriate businessman Kozhikode Thathamma Parambil Harris and Chalakudy resident manager were killed in a flat in Abu Dhabi. The inspection was led by Inspector Sreekumar of Thiruvananthapuram unit. Harris and the woman were killed on March 5, 2020. Abu Dhabi police had concluded that Harris committed suicide after killing the woman.
The double murder came to light during the investigation into the murder of traditional medical practitioner Shaba Sharif. The case was that the physician from Mysuru was kidnapped and kept under custody for one and a half years to get the secret of haemorrhoid medicine and then killed. The clue to the Abu Dhabi murder came from Shaibin's co-accused in the case.

Harris was Shaibin's business partner. According to the police, Shaibin's relationship with Harris' wife and his desire to take possession of his property is what motivated the murder. Suspicions that Harris was behind Shaibin's entry ban in Abu Dhabi due to a drug dealing case fueled his anger. The case is that Shaibin sent his accomplices to Abu Dhabi on a visitor visa and carried out the murder while he was in India. Exact instructions on how to carry out the murder had been written down so as to leave no room for doubt.

The High Court left the investigation to the CBI on a petition filed by Harris' mother Sarabi and sister Harifa. The CBI team recorded the statement of both.
