THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Three more suspects are to be apprehended in the VSSC exam cheating case according to the police. Two legitimate candidates who were issued hall tickets for the exam, along with one of their associates are slated for arrest. The investigative team will be heading to Haryana next week in pursuit of these individuals.
The investigative team has struggled to procure additional evidence in the situation where the culprits destroyed the devices employed for cheating post-exam. Currently, the available evidence comprises phone call records from mobile towers related to the accused.
The apprehended individuals were discovered to have cheated in four more examinations held in various states. The police retrieved six hall tickets for various exams including EPFO from the suspects' mobile phones. This new information came to light when data deleted from WhatsApp was successfully recovered from Sidac. Further questioning and investigation will be necessary to substantiate these findings. Among the nine individuals arrested, two of them engaged in additional misconduct. In various states, they clandestinely entered examination centres and utilized electronic devices to perpetrate irregularities.
