THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Most of the vegetables in the market have become cheaper after Onam. The increase in availability of vegetables and market intervention is the reason for the decrease in prices.
But ladies' finger, spinach and cauliflower prices are higher than before Onam. Ladies finger, which was priced at Rs 62, is now sold for Rs 70. The price of spinach, which was Rs. 40, became Rs. 47. Cauliflower is now sold for Rs 55, a Rs 5 hike in price. The price of rasakadali has increased among fruits. It was 80-85 rupees before Onam, but it became 90-95 yesterday. The price has increased because it is the wedding season.
